Waymo expands robotaxi fleet across fifteen US cities with focus on California and Texas
Waymo has increased its commercial robotaxi operations to fifteen US cities since September 2024, averaging half a million paid rides weekly.
Geographic expansion reaches new states
The company now operates in fifteen locations across the United States. Most of its roughly 4,000 vehicles are concentrated in California and Texas. Other cities include Arizona and Florida.
Fleet composition shifts to new minivan
About 80 percent of the fleet consists of white Jaguar I-Pace electric SUVs. A growing share of vehicles are modified Zeekr RT minivans branded as Ojai. The Texas fleet grew by nearly half in the past three weeks.
Ridership numbers show rapid growth
Waymo averaged 500,000 paid robotaxi rides every week recently. This represents a significant increase compared to earlier operations. The rollout includes both geographic reach and increased ridership.
