Warhound raises $200 million to engineer military dogs with Anduril gear
The startup Warhound announced its emergence from stealth on Thursday with $200 million in funding to genetically modify dogs for US military and law enforcement use.

Funding and company valuation
Investors including In-Q-Tel, Sequoia, and 8VC participated in the round that values the company at $1.2 billion. The venture combines Colossal Biosciences genetic expertise with Anduril military technology to address supply issues for working animals.
Goals for domestic breeding
Leaders hope to reduce reliance on Europe, where more than 80 percent of current US military dogs originate. The plan aims to produce healthier animals with characteristics suited for demanding missions while improving training success rates.
Cybernetic equipment integration
Anduril will equip the enhanced dogs with advanced cybernetic augments designed to provide greater awareness and protection in the field. These devices include eye and ear protection alongside EagleEye military technology for handlers.
