Early decision on factions

The creative director stated that choosing four separate stories was the very first choice made by the team. He noted that Warhammer is fundamentally about its factions and how unique they are to players.

Branching storylines emerge

Ideas for the game grew rapidly until the final design included branching missions across the different campaigns. The director admitted the team felt like children in a candy shop while generating these concepts.

Total mission count rises

The final product features seventy distinct missions spread across the four major faction campaigns. This structure allows players to learn about groups such as the Necrons and Adeptus Mechanicus through gameplay.
