Vantora raises $100 million to focus on physical AI startups for corporate clients
Formerly known as UP.Labs, the startup builder Vantora secured a $100 million investment from Silversmith Capital Partners to pivot toward physical artificial intelligence ventures exclusively for corporate partners.

New strategic direction and funding
The firm now operates with a primary focus on building startups solely for its corporate customers rather than the broader market. Founder John Kuolt stated that this shift allows the company to utilize a proprietary M&A pipeline where partners can fold ventures into their core businesses. This change addresses previous limitations where sensitive ideas were discarded because they could not be commercialized outside of specific corporate walls.
Focus on physical AI technology
Vantora is directing its efforts toward physical AI startups, a sector that aligns with the strategic needs of its industrial manufacturing and oil and gas clients. The company continues to work with existing partners like Alaska Airlines and Porsche while adding new industrial clients it declined to name. This approach ensures that high-value problems previously missed due to sensitivity are now addressed within secure corporate environments.
