Valar Atomics proposes 456 nuclear reactors for Utah data centers

Valar Atomics has filed a proposal to build 456 nuclear reactors on nearly 10,000 acres of federal land near Price, Utah.

Nearly 10,000 acres of Utah public land could host 456 nuclear reactors — enough power for 7-8 million homes, but none of them will get any of that power

Project scope and location details

The company named the initiative Project Beehive. Valar also requests roughly 650 additional acres controlled by the state to expand the total footprint above 9,650 acres.

Power generation capacity estimates

Each modular unit would generate 25MW of electricity. The combined output of 9.6GW is more than twice the average annual power Utah currently produces.

Intended energy recipients

The generated power would supply computing facilities rather than residential homes. This arrangement means the massive capacity serves data centers instead of the local population.
