Ukraine unveils StarGate drone for medical evacuations
Ukraine's defense company SkyFall introduced the StarGate hexacopter drone in Kyiv to evacuate injured soldiers from dangerous frontline areas.
Design and cargo capacity
The aircraft features an enclosed cabin with a fixed medical stretcher inside. It is capable of carrying loads up to 150 kilograms while flying at speeds of 105 kilometers per hour.
Operational capabilities in bad weather
Thermal-imaging cameras allow the system to navigate through rain, snow and darkness effectively. The drone can travel up to 15 kilometers in one direction before needing to return or land.
Autonomous safety features included
Two communication channels connect the machine to its operators during flight missions. If contact is lost, the unit is designed to return on its own without human input.
