Tesla Roadster 2 performs gravity-defying jump at Texas facility
Elon Musk unveiled the Tesla Roadster 2 prototype at SpaceX's McGregor, Texas facility last night.

Vehicle launch and landing sequence
The two-seater car launched over the automaker's lineup and reached 60 mph in less than a second. It drove upside down off a high ramp before flipping mid-air to land on the ground. On-board thrusters cushioned the rapid descent during this demonstration.
Design features and safety measures
Franz von Holzhausen designed the angular exterior of the vehicle since 2008. Blacked-out windows obscured any view inside the EV because it carried no human driver. Musk stated Tesla wanted to ensure they do not kill anyone during the gravity-defying demonstration.
