Ventilation and cleaning concerns

The company states that placing the console on a carpet risks blocking vents with dust, spores, and dead skin flakes. Even regular cleaning cannot fully remove these contaminants which accumulate in long-pile or short-pile carpets. Vent ports located within one or two inches of the floor surface are particularly vulnerable to this buildup.

Physical damage risks

Positioning any PS5 model on the floor increases the likelihood of accidental kicks or being stepped on by users. This physical risk applies regardless of whether the console is in its original, slim, or pro configuration.
