Slate relies on user devices

The Slate Truck does not include a traditional center display for navigation or media. Buyers must mount their own phone or tablet to access maps and music. The vehicle provides standard mounting points and charging ports for these external devices.

Ford includes built-in screens

The Ford Fathom features a large touchscreen integrated into the dashboard. This system supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Ford states the unit will offer maps and media directly through the vehicle hardware.

Both aim for low prices

Slate lists its starting price at $24,950 before destination charges. The Ford Fathom begins at $28,350 plus delivery fees. Both manufacturers target an electric pickup market segment below thirty thousand dollars.
