Secure Folder creates isolated space

Samsung replaced a basic lock option with Secure Folder, which is built on its Knox security platform. This tool creates an entirely separate encrypted area on the phone for protected applications. Apps placed inside this folder run as distinct copies that keep their own data apart from the main system.

App pinning offers another layer

The manufacturer splits the security job between two different tools to cover more ground than a single toggle could. Users can combine these methods to prevent children or others from accessing banking apps, emails, or texts quickly. Neither approach is a direct copy of Apple's method, but together they provide broader protection for sensitive content.
