Automated customer journey begins

Shoppers enter the venue and are greeted by monitor screens rather than sales associates. They test artificial intelligence smart glasses and make payments directly on a display screen. An automated system delivers the new devices to customers as they leave the exit.

Store performance exceeds targets

Zoro Shao, vice-president of international business at Rokid, stated that no human salesperson was involved during the trial period. The unstaffed venue sold between five and six pairs of wearables daily during its opening week. Each pair costs HK$4,688, which is around US$599.

Global first for sector

Rokid described this location as the first unstaffed venue of its kind in the global smart-glasses sector. The company launched this experiment to help it stand out from competitors while expanding internationally.
