Researchers introduce AstroGenesis AI system to streamline astrophysical research workflows
Scientists have developed a new multi-agent artificial intelligence system called AstroGenesis to automate complex tasks in astrophysical research.

Automating data collection and analysis
Traditional astrophysical investigations require researchers to manually collect observations, analyze data, and build physical models. The new AI system connects these different stages of the research process within a single environment. This integration aims to reduce the considerable time usually needed for experienced researchers to complete these tasks.
Leveraging large language model capabilities
Large language models can already explain complicated scientific processes and help write code for specific projects. The AstroGenesis project builds on these existing capabilities to perform actual calculations rather than just explaining them. A paper describing this work is currently posted to the arXiv preprint server.
