Third-party vendor breach confirmed

The company stated that the intrusion targeted a vendor based in the United Kingdom rather than its own website. Trading was paused for several hours while investigators looked into the incident before services returned to normal.

Financial impact and refunds

Analytics firm Bubblemaps says roughly 700 users were affected by the theft of approximately $2.7 million. Polymarket declined to answer specific questions about the number of impacted traders but promised to refund those who lost money.

US platform remains unaffected

Users on the separate Polymarket US exchange were not impacted by this security incident. The flagship international platform operates as a cryptocurrency-based market that is banned in the United States and other nations.
