Pakistan leads global YouTube race with 560 million daily views
PTA Chairman Hafeez Ur Rehman told a parliamentary committee in Islamabad on Tuesday that Pakistan now leads the world in YouTube viewership.

Daily video consumption surges
Users in the country watch 560 million videos every day according to the chairman. This figure makes Pakistan the top nation for daily YouTube engagement globally. Approximately 96 million people in Pakistan use the platform regularly.
Other platforms see growth
TikTok has 100 million registered accounts while 150 million citizens watch content there. WhatsApp also shows massive engagement with about 100 million active accounts nationwide. Daily communication includes one billion calls and 12 billion messages exchanged by users.
Network upgrades continue
The current administration conducted a 5G spectrum auction after the previous government introduced 4G services. Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja attributed rising data consumption to increased social media use and AI adoption. No new spectrum auction occurred following the departure of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
