ModRetro Chromatic Transparent console offers affordable retro gaming options
ModRetro has released an updated version of its Chromatic handheld that plays classic Game Boy games at a lower price.
New hardware supports multiple cartridges
The latest device allows users to insert original Game Boy and Game Boy Color game cartridges. It also runs re-released titles made by the manufacturer itself. This updated model replaces an earlier version that cost significantly more.
Price reduction includes free software
The starting price for this unit is set at $149.99 or £139.99. Buyers receive a copy of Tetris included with every purchase they make. This represents a saving of fifty dollars compared to the previous launch cost.
Design features transparent colorways
The console is available in several different transparent color options for customers to choose from. Reviewers have tested the device with classic titles like Link's Awakening DX over a two-week period. The hardware provides modern improvements while maintaining compatibility with older game libraries.
