Mistral AI has denied a fresh security breach after a cybercrime forum seller claimed to offer the company's full source code following an alleged attack in September 2026.
Seller claims new unauthorized access
An account named mrwho posted a listing on a cybercrime forum on September 16, 2026. The seller stated they were offering Mistral AI's complete source code for purchase in Monero. This account also directed potential buyers toward Session or Telegram to complete the transaction.
Company refutes the allegations
Mistral AI's security team investigated the claim and found no evidence of new unauthorized access. The company stated it has not confirmed whether the listed code is genuine. No customer data has appeared in samples analyzed by investigators so far.
Previous supply chain attack context
This incident follows a May 2026 event where an automated worm compromised versions of Mistral's SDKs. That earlier breach involved the TeamPCP group spreading through compromised TanStack packages on npm and PyPI. The current situation does not indicate that customer files were created after the May incident.
