Minecraft adds new dimension called The Sift in 2027
Mojang Studios announced a new world called The Sift will arrive in Minecraft Java and Bedrock Editions in 2027.
Initial release in spinoff game
The new dimension will first appear in Minecraft Dungeons 2 before launching in the main game. This sequel to the dungeon crawler spinoff is scheduled for release on September 29.
Areas and creatures included
Mojang stated that specific areas within The Sift will include the Meadows and the Carapace. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma shared a teaser video showing new mobs that can act as companions or threats.
Gameplay changes expected
The studio confirmed there will be new rules for players to learn regarding gameplay mechanics. This update ends a drought of new dimensions that has lasted more than 15 years.
