Update resolves specific hardware faults

The new firmware addresses extended reboot times, screen flickering, and unexpected restarts found by reviewers. Microsoft lists this change as the Microsoft Corporation System Hardware Update with version number 200.0.7.0 in Windows Update.

Rollout process and limitations

The company is distributing the patch on a staggered schedule so not every device receives it immediately. Owners can locate the update within the Surface app under the Help and support section, though they cannot uninstall it once applied.

Unfixable display and chip limits

The current patch does not correct slow response times on the Mini LED panel or grayish blacks. Additionally, the update cannot resolve weak dimming performance or efficiency limitations within the RTX Spark graphics processor.
