Meta adds FDA-cleared hearing enhancement to AI Glasses later this year
Meta announced at its Connect event that a new FDA-cleared hearing enhancement will arrive on supported AI Glasses later this year.
Pricing and subscription options
Users can access the feature through a Meta One subscription or pay a one-time fee of $149. A thirty-day free trial is available before committing to payment. The software does not require a prescription and allows users to set it up at home.
Target audience and activation
This tool targets individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss who might normally use a hearing aid. Wearers can activate or deactivate the function anytime using a voice command like Hey Meta. The feature works alongside existing Conversation Focus mode but is designed specifically for this user group.
Eligibility and reimbursement details
The software has received clearance from the FDA and qualifies for HSA or FSA reimbursement. Users must coordinate with their insurance carrier to arrange payment through these accounts. This rollout excludes Ray-Ban models at least until the initial launch period.
