Mach9 secures $34 million Series A for AI CAD software
Mach9 announced a $34 million Series A funding round on Wednesday to support its pivot to artificial intelligence computer-aided design software.

Original hardware plans changed
Co-founder Alex Baikovitz initially founded the company in 2021 with the goal of building better hardware for civil engineering visual inspections. He realized that hardware was not the bottleneck and that the real issue lay in data workflows. Consequently, the team dropped Robotics from the name and shifted focus to developing AI-powered software instead.
Private beta gains traction
The startup has since attracted nearly 100 customers for a private beta version of its new tool. Users have applied this software to more than 2,500 projects across various sites. This momentum helped the company unlock the new funding round announced on Wednesday.
Investors lead the round
First Round Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners co-led the investment deal for the startup. Other investors including Prudence also participated in the financing. The capital will support the development of their AI-driven design platform.
