Laser releases new region-free 4K Blu-ray player in Australia
Australian brand Laser has announced a new 4K Blu-ray player available for pre-order in its home market.
Region-free playback and pricing
The device supports region-free playback for standard DVDs and regular Blu-ray discs. It also offers 4K Ultra HD support for compatible movies. The current asking price is AU$499.95 at the time of writing.
Supported video features
The player includes support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision visual formats. It also allows high-resolution audio output through its single HDMI port. Users can play media files stored on USB drives connected to the unit.
Connectivity limitations noted
Internet connectivity relies entirely on an Ethernet cable rather than Wi-Fi. The hardware does not support the HDR10+ standard found in some other models. Only one HDMI connection is provided for connecting to a television.
