Polansky told Business Insider that the team waited until their data was publication worthy before making an announcement. Lady Gaga introduced the platform on X while sitting on the company board alongside her musical career.
Skin research challenges
Researching human live skin is difficult because experiments on humans create ethical problems and artificial tissues cannot be compared with real ones. Tissues detached from humans die after several days, which limits the time available for testing samples.
Yuna technology solution
The proposed solution called Yuna allows maintaining full-thickness donated skin alive for four weeks using 3D printing technology. This method provides conditions similar to physiological ones by managing nutrition supply and removing metabolic products from the samples.
