JLR launches Range Rover Sport Electric with lower price and faster torque
Jaguar Land Rover announced the availability of the new Range Rover Sport Electric model earlier this month.

The vehicle uses the same powertrain as the larger Range Rover but features different tuning. Two 260-kilowatt motors provide up to 550 PS and 850 Newton-meters of torque. The SUV can accelerate from standstill to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds when using Dynamic Launch Mode.
Range and pricing information
The model carries an 118.5-kilowatt-hour battery that claims up to 374 miles on the WLTP standard. The starting price is set at £109,810, though US pricing has not been released yet. This version offers a lower center of gravity and faster torque response than the full-fat Range Rover Electric.
Market context for JLR
Sales of the Range Rover Sport often run close to or slightly higher than the flagship Range Rover. The automaker previously announced plans to cut 4,000 jobs over the next two years. This all-electric version could be just as important for the company given its lower price point.
