Abumrad leaves behind a legacy

The creator of Radiolab retired in 2022 after helping redefine the podcasting medium. His experimental show used original music and cinematic sound effects to tell deeply reported stories. Latif Nasser and Lulu Miller now host the program that once featured interviews with major music icons.

New creative work continues

Since stepping away from daily hosting, Abumrad has produced Fear No Man about Fela Kuti. He also composes scores for film, theater, and dance performances outside of podcasting. This new phase includes his role as a distinguished research professor at Vanderbilt University.
