New video options arrive

The upcoming update allows drivers to watch videos on their vehicle display while parked. Playback automatically switches to audio-only if the car starts moving again. This change expands entertainment beyond audio services like Apple Music and Spotify.

Hardware requirements apply

Users with iPhones less than three years old may qualify for these upgrades. Older devices or unsupported models cannot access the new video functionality. Manufacturers must also implement specific changes to support the feature.

Other improvements included

The update brings a progress bar and persistent mini-player to the Now Playing screen. Navigation apps can now share route data directly with the car system. Siri AI integration is also coming inside the vehicle interface.
