Huawei launches Kirin 9050 Pro chip for Mate XT 2 phone

Chip claims full Chinese origin

The company states the new mobile processor contains no American-made components. Huawei describes this device as its most powerful all-Chinese chip ever created.

Performance gains over previous model

Richard Yu, chairman of the consumer business group, called it the strongest Kirin chip to date. The processor shows a 42 percent improvement compared to the last generation Mate XTs Kirin 9020.

Manufacturing process details

The firm claims a 55 percent density gain by folding the chip and stacking layers. Production reportedly uses foreign scanners and equipment from before 2022 sanctions took effect.
