Design process relies on manual work

Senior level designer Marin Ansdal stated that every character receives a hand-drawn concept before modeling begins. The team explicitly avoids relying on traditional scanning methods for these special updates. Junior artist Lovisa Österman confirmed that the design process takes many hours of studying talent.

Realism balanced with artistic choices

Ansdal noted that a great likeness often involves supplementing realism with caricature rather than pure replication. The studio believes having a perfect 3D mesh does not guarantee the character looks like the person. This approach ensures the final result feels authentic to the Hitman universe.
