Guild Wars 3 arrives on PS5 and PC in Fall 2027

ArenaNet announced that Guild Wars 3 will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC during a Fall 2027 beta.

Studio aims for wider audience

Studio head Colin Johanson stated that releasing the title on consoles allows the developers to reach a much larger group of players. The team views this console launch as an invitation for everyone to play together. ArenaNet plans to release the game on Steam from day one alongside these console versions.

Setting takes place in Orr

The game is set 1000 years before the first Guild Wars title in the ancient land of Orr. This prequel setting means newcomers do not need prior experience with the original two games to start playing. Hardcore fans who have studied the lore for years will also find appeal in this highly anticipated era.

Xbox remains excluded from launch

Developers confirmed that the upcoming release will not include support for Xbox consoles. This decision limits the initial platform availability to only PS5 and personal computers. The franchise marks its first time launching on both console and PC simultaneously.
