Google opens pre-orders for new Android-based Googlebook laptops

Google has opened pre-orders for its new line of higher-end Android-based laptops starting September 21.

Pre-order availability and date

The company confirmed that customers can place orders at 9AM ET on the specified date. This launch follows an official announcement made in May regarding the new device brand.

Hardware manufacturers involved

Several established makers including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo will produce these machines. These brands have previously manufactured standard Chromebooks for the market.

Operating system features

The devices run on a version of ChromeOS that is built upon Android. Google states that Gemini Intelligence serves as the core component within this operating system.
