New automated calling features found

Android Authority discovered an introductory screen for a feature named Gemini Calling inside a tested application package. The examples shown include messages telling a mother the user is late or asking if a friend is coming to dinner. These tests suggest the tool will handle short, text-like conversations rather than full phone catch-ups.

Permission settings allow control

The teardown also revealed granular permissions that let users choose which app capabilities Gemini can access. This setup could give people the option to stop receiving incoming automated calls from the artificial intelligence system. However, it remains unclear if Google will officially release these specific settings or the expanded calling feature.
