Facebook launches new AI tool to let users customize their feed algorithm
Meta announced on Tuesday that Facebook users can now customize their news feed and Reels using a new AI feature called Your Algorithm.

Direct control over content preferences
The new tool allows users to describe their interests in natural language rather than relying solely on automated suggestions. People can select interested or not interested options from the three dots menu on individual posts. Meta states that recommendations will update in real time after users make these adjustments.
Integration with existing ranking systems
This feature brings Instagram's previous functionality to Facebook while incorporating large language models into the ranking process. The platform may ask follow-up questions to gather more detail on what users liked or disliked. Users can explain specific topics they want to see more or less of in their own words.
Real time feedback mechanism
Meta says the system responds immediately when a user hits buttons for different topics. The company is using these AI-powered tools to customize what appears on Facebook feeds. This approach aims to make content recommendations more relevant to individual users.
