Musk accuses unnamed oligarchs of blocking entry

SpaceX founder Elon Musk posted on X that unnamed powerful business interests were preventing the satellite internet provider from entering the market. He described this alleged obstruction as a crime against the people of India and claimed it maintained a monopolistic chokehold. The accusations came after the Indian government rejected his specific claims regarding these influential figures without providing evidence.

Government denies discriminatory regulatory treatment

India's Ministry of Communications responded by stating its framework for satellite communications is fair and non-discriminatory. Officials noted that Starlink and two other licensed operators are at broadly the same regulatory stage. All three companies must complete security assessments before they can seek spectrum to send signals.

Musk targets Reliance Industries chairperson directly

On Thursday, Musk went further by questioning whether Mukesh Ambani is the real boss of India. He argued that Starlink had spent years complying with regulations while still lacking a license. The Indian ministry maintained that its process applies equally to all satellite operators seeking entry.
