EA launches 25 classic PC games on Steam with Anniversary Editions
Electronic Arts is releasing 25 classic PC titles on Steam, including updated versions of Road Rash and Wing Commander.
Restored content from physical archives
EA discovered a vault containing thousands of Betacam, VHS, and D1 tapes that enabled the restoration process. The company recovered master full-motion video sequences to restore more than 1,500 scenes in the updated games.
Pricing and platform availability
Road Rash and Wing Commander Anniversary Editions are priced at $9.99 while other classics cost $4.99. Players can purchase these titles on Steam, GOG, and the EA App.
Modern updates for old titles
The new editions include quality-of-life updates to support modern systems and controls. Some Wing Commander games also officially incorporate community-made mods into the release.
