Unique visual style and hardware setup

The project uses an electron beam to trace lines directly on the screen instead of a pixel grid. This method creates a Tron-like appearance with clean lines that differ from standard ports. The console handles the display while a plug-in cartridge manages the processing tasks.

Modder tools and audio output

Jason Kopp built the demo around his Ultimate Vectrex Multicart 2 device. He utilized an SDK created by Daniel Ferrer Guerrero to facilitate the port. Audio signals come through a separate 3.5mm output connected to the cartridge.

Technical limitations of the port

The game does not run natively on the hardware despite its unique presentation. The setup technically relies on external processing rather than the original system capabilities. This approach distinguishes it from other strange Doom ports found on various devices.
