Crusoe files for two new data centers in West Texas

Crusoe has filed paperwork for a $4.8 billion campus of two data centers in Jayton, Texas, with construction set to begin in January 2027.

Proposed facility size and location

The combined project covers nearly 1.52 million square feet across two separate buildings. Applications filed with state regulators place these structures along Country Road 233 and P2390 in Kent County.

Construction timeline and operations

Work on the site is scheduled to start in January 2027 according to the filings. The first facility is expected to go online in May 2029 while the second follows in July.

Regional investment context

This development adds to a total regional artificial intelligence investment of $12 billion for the state. Project Hyper remains a separate Crusoe project currently being built in Childress.
