Crusoe ends partnership with Boom Supersonic for AI data center turbines
Denver-based Crusoe and Boom Supersonic have ended a planned partnership to supply stationary power plants for Crusoe's Texas data centers.

Crusoe, which recently raised $3.9 billion, previously agreed to spend $1.25 billion on 29 turbines from Boom Supersonic. The first deliveries were scheduled to begin in 2027 for a campus in Abilene, Texas. Boom CEO Blake Scholl confirmed on Friday that the companies are no longer moving forward with this launch partnership.
Power mix changes
Scholl stated that turbines are no longer part of Crusoe's near term primary power mix at Abilene. He explained that a launch partnership just did not make sense under the new circumstances. Other customers remain in Boom Supersonic's pipeline despite this specific deal falling apart.
