Scope of the unauthorized access

The incident began on October 19 when suspicious activity was detected within the Capcom ID system. Unauthorized access allowed attackers to view emails, birth dates, and nicknames for millions of accounts. Ninety-six passwords were changed without permission while credit card details remained safe.

Company response and warnings

Capcom blocked the intruders immediately after spotting the suspicious behavior on the network. The firm reported the matter to local police and its external security advisory board. Users are advised to watch for phishing emails that might follow this leak.

Status of online services

All Capcom ID services remain available for players using games like Street Fighter 6. The company stated it has identified and addressed the specific method used in the attack. No further changes to account access are expected at this time.
