Blue Origin delays New Glenn rocket launch to January 2027
Blue Origin has moved its next New Glenn rocket launch from late this year to January 2027 following a May explosion.
Explosion damaged launchpad infrastructure
A blast at the launchpad in May damaged facilities before a scheduled flight carrying Amazon Leo satellites. The incident forced the company to halt preparations and begin repairs on the site.
CEO cites weather delays rebuilding
Dave Limp stated that bad weather also slowed the process of reconstructing the launchpad. He noted in a memo that this adjustment does not diminish the importance of the work ahead.
Company prioritizes returning to flight
The revised timeline is about ten days later than previous targets mentioned by company leadership. Returning New Glenn to flight remains the top priority for the organization according to internal communications.
