AT&T Connected Life system now supports Gemini for Home features
AT&T has updated its Connected Life smart security system to integrate with Google's Gemini for Home API.
New AI video search tools
The update allows users to ask natural language questions about recorded footage. Owners can now query the system to identify who delivered a package or what animals entered the yard. Daily summaries of activity inside and outside the home are also available through this integration.
Automatic arming based on location
The new software enables automatic arming or disarming when users approach their residence. These capabilities require a subscription to AT&T's professional monitoring plan priced at $29.99 per month. The system launched last December in partnership with Google and Abode.
Broader API availability
AT&T is utilizing Google's Gemini-powered Home APIs to build these AI features into their devices. Other smart home brands and developers can also use these same APIs to create similar functions. ADT has indicated it plans to bring comparable Gemini for Home features soon.
