Display and physical design changes

The device now measures 8.5 inches diagonally, which is larger than the previous 8.3-inch model. Apple achieved this increase by reducing bezel width by 24 percent while keeping overall dimensions unchanged. The tablet also features a thinner body at 5.4mm thick and weighs less than its predecessor.

Performance and chip specifications

Inside the new hardware sits an A20 Pro chip capable of running on-device artificial intelligence models. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB, with the largest capacity model offering a six-core CPU configuration. The screen supports up to 4K resolution but operates at a standard 60Hz refresh rate.

Brightness and audio improvements

The display reaches a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, a significant jump from the prior generation. The new audio system includes IP67 water and dust resistance to protect internal components. Siri AI features allow users to adjust voice expressiveness and pace directly on the device.
