Manufacturing partner remains unnamed

Reports indicate Apple hired an unidentified manufacturer to build these advanced screens. One of only four such facilities in the world handles this production. Samsung Display operates one of these sites and has worked with Apple before.

Production chamber is huge

The manufacturing environment for these panels spans a volume comparable to the Colosseum in Rome. This massive scale helps improve yield and lower costs for the final product. The resulting laptop screen is less than a millimeter thick despite its complexity.

Panel structure is complex

Each PROLED XDR panel contains fifty distinct layers within its construction. Visual comparisons suggest this technology differs significantly from other tandem OLED displays on the market. The fabrication process represents Apple's most advanced laptop display effort to date.
