New device design details

The upcoming product would feature a thin fabric band with a sensor-equipped computing module. This form factor is similar to the bands sold by Whoop. Prototypes of this item have already been developed according to the outlet.

Current company leadership changes

Tim Cook stepped down as CEO in August to become executive chairman. John Ternus has taken over the role of new CEO. The company is also facing headwinds from rising costs due to a memory shortage.

Existing wearable product line

Apple already sells fitness tracking data through its Apple Watch device. That current wearable records workouts, heart rate, and sleep information for users.
