Project location and scale

The proposed facility would sit on a plot currently occupied by a feedlot containing 24,000 head of livestock. This site is located about 180km west of Brisbane in the Western Downs region. The project involves a developer based in Singapore known as Zerra DC.

Energy and water requirements

The datacentre would require a peak power capacity equal to roughly a quarter of total state energy demand. This figure stands at 2.16GW according to available reports on the project specifications. The cooling system is designed to be less water intensive than most existing datacentres.

Construction workforce plans

The development aims to employ thousands of workers during the construction phase. Approximately 1,400 jobs are expected to be created for this specific project stage.
