Amazon launches refreshed Kindle lineup with new colors and aluminum options
On Thursday, Amazon introduced a refreshed lineup of Kindles featuring new designs, colors, and materials.

New base model features flush front
The entry-level Kindle now has a flush-front display instead of a recessed screen. This basic model is 6.8mm thin and weighs 140 grams. It offers 16GB of storage and includes options with lockscreen ads or an aluminum back.
Paperwhite and Colorsoft get updates
The Kindle Paperwhite is thinner and lighter while lasting up to 12 weeks on a charge. The new Kindle Colorsoft comes in seven-inch versions with Signature Editions available for both the base and aluminum models.
Kids editions include special cases
Kids versions of the entire range feature artist-designed cases and a year of damage guarantee. These editions also provide unlimited access to child-appropriate books through the Kids+ subscription service.
