Amazon ends Grubhub deal to use Uber Eats for Prime members
Amazon announced Thursday that it is switching its US restaurant delivery partner from Grubhub to Uber Eats for Prime subscribers.
New partnership details
Prime members can now place orders directly through the Amazon app or website without creating a separate Uber account. Delivery fees are waived on restaurant purchases totaling $25 or more under this new agreement.
End of Grubhub deal
The existing commercial arrangement with Grubhub concludes Thursday, according to an Amazon spokesperson. This change follows a review process where the company identified opportunities to improve the delivery experience for its members.
Existing business ties
Amazon and Uber already maintain agreements covering cloud computing and robotaxi integration alongside this food delivery shift. Both companies are offering a $20 discount on the first qualifying order to encourage users to try the service.
