Susan Alexandra proposed to Andy Nahman outside a closed Matisse chapel in France
Designer Susan Alexandra Korn and data scientist Andy Nahman exchanged vows after an improvised proposal at a historic French villa in September 2025.
Initial meeting and connection
The couple first met in March 2023 at a birthday party in Brooklyn. They had previously crossed paths when Nahman attended the opening of Alexandra's Lower East Side store in October 2021.
Proposal plan and disruption
Nahman intended to propose inside the Matisse chapel during a trip to the South of France. Upon arrival, he found the chapel closed and discovered flute glasses broken in the car trunk.
Improvised proposal location
Alexandra stated that Nahman quickly improvised by proposing on the curb outside the chapel. Several people watched from a nearby bus stop as the event unfolded.
