Simone Rocha designs costumes for New York City Ballet Mirror/Sky
Designer Simone Rocha created ballet costumes for Justin Peck's new piece Mirror/Sky at the New York City Ballet's annual Fall Fashion Gala.

Collaboration begins last May
Justin Peck contacted Rocha in May while she was preparing her Spring 2027 collection. He invited her to design costumes for a new pas de deux that would debut at the company's gala. Rocha agreed immediately and began coordinating with Marc Happel, the director of costumes.
Designs reflect physical dance
The choreographer described the performance as very physical and pure. Rocha wanted the outfits to match that description by using nude, second-skin leotards. Dancers Tiler Peck and Roman Mejia wore these garments adorned with hand-painted red roses.
Lace details added to neck
The designer edged the neckline and sleeves of the leotards with small strips of lace. This detail resembles what is typically found on a camisole. The back of Peck's leotard also featured specific design elements.
