Sandy Liang launches first book and presents Spring 2027 collection
Designer Sandy Liang presented her Spring 2027 collection and announced the release of her debut book, Dressing Up, at a New York City fashion show.
New athletic influences appear in designs
The Spring 2027 collection merges Liang's typical feminine style with a newfound athletic touch. Bedazzled bralettes and tulle skirts are seen alongside puffy fanny packs and polka-dot windbreakers. A skirt printed with a soccer ball sends a literal nod to her son's sports fixation.
Designer shares inspiration from family life
Liang explained that seeing the world through her toddler son's lens inspired more than just the new collection. The show took place in a pastel castle set design surrounded by models and editors. She noted that the collection represents her girl who is a little bit more outside this season.
Book release marks major milestone
The designer told attendees she has had the brand for ten years before publishing her first book. The event occurred some 10 or 15 minutes following her final bow at the presentation. She described the accomplishment of cultivating a successful New York City label and a devoted community.
