Prime Video Carrie series leaves door open for potential season two
Showrunner Mike Flanagan stated that Prime Video's adaptation of Stephen King's novel left narrative room for a second season despite the show not being officially renewed.
Amazon has not renewed the series yet
Prime Video has not officially renewed Carrie for a second season. Showrunner Mike Flanagan confirmed this status in an interview with People magazine. He noted that the production team focused on completing the current story arc first.
Flanagan intended to leave room for more
The creator intentionally left plot elements that could support a continuation of the story. He told People that he hoped the character would return to her light self in a future installment. Flanagan described continuing the series as a dream scenario for him personally.
Ingredients exist for a potential expansion
The production team tried to include ingredients necessary for expanding the narrative further. Flanagan expressed that there was significant potential for the story to grow beyond its current conclusion. The show remains open to future development if Amazon decides to proceed.
