Phil Knight and Penny donate $1bn to University of Oregon for new engineering school
Nike co-founders Phil Knight and Penny donated $1 billion to the University of Oregon on Wednesday to establish a new undergraduate engineering college.
Historic gift size confirmed
University officials described the contribution as the largest ever made to a comprehensive public university in the United States. This donation brings the total known giving from the Knight family to more than $2 billion since 2016.
